Watch Behind-The-Scenes Video Of The xx’s Intimate Park Avenue Armory Shows
Right now, the xx are near the end of their New York residency, where they’re playing 25 shows to audiences of 40 people each. To make the shows special, the band’s crew has built a tiny performance space inside a much larger one, New York’s Park Avenue Armory, which is often used for gigantic art installations. For these shows, the band stands in the center, and they’re there waiting as the audience files in through labyrinthine passageways. In a new video that documents the fascinating choices that the band has made here, as well as the pretty-awesome aesthetics, The New York Times has gone behind the scenes at these shows. Watch that video here.
