The Pavement reunion tour has been over and done for years, and there's no indication that we'll get another one anytime soon. But people who went see Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks play L.A.'s El Rey Theatre on Friday night got to see something of a mini-reunion, as Spiral Stairs rejoined his old Pavement bandmate Malkmus to add some scraping dissonance to "Stereo," one of Pavement's best songs. This was their first time onstage together since that Pavement tour, and Malkmus, for one, looked like he was having more fun onstage than he did at any actual Pavement show I've seen.
