Is BottleRock The Strangest Festival Lineup Of 2014?
This 5/30-6/1 in Napa Valley, California, one of the oddest, most counter-intuitive festival lineups in recent memory will come together for the three-day show BottleRock. OutKast will headline — that part isn’t so strange — as will the Cure, Weezer, and outlaw country star Eric Church. Further down the bill, the lineup boasts plenty of names that you’d expect to see on a big three-day festival poster: TV On The Radio, Deerhunter, De La Soul, Matt And Kim, Thee Oh Sees, the Black Angels. But they’ll share space with plenty of radio-playlist standbys from years gone by: LL Cool J (with Z-Trip), Heart, Third Eye Blind, Sublime With Rome, Blues Traveler, the Fray, Cracker, Gin Blossoms, Smash Mouth, Barenaked Ladies. This is the rare festival lineup where you’ll see the names “No Age” and “Spin Doctors” on the website’s lineup page, right next to each other. Napa Valley is, of course, wine country, and this festival would indeed make more sense if you were drunk. But it also seems like it might be really fun? Check out the festival info here.
