Montreal-based Braids have shared an outtake from last year’s excellent Flourish // Perish that would have fit in nicely on the back half of that album. If you’ve listened to Braids before you should know what to expect by now: a slow start that builds in layers before everything dissolves into Raphaelle Standell-Preston’s ethereal yelp, this time screaming remorsefully, “He thought I was the one” before fading away into nothing. It’s a formula that works for them and “Deep Running” is one of the best executions of that formula yet. Listen below.
