Watch Kelis Play Conan

Kelis has come a long way since her milkshake was bringing all the boys to the yard. Her new album, Food, is less hip-hop than a form of sometimes jazzy, sometimes folksy, indie pop. There's less hyper-sexualization, and her sound has, well, matured. It makes sense, given that she'sgone through a divorce, birthed a child, and been arrested since that song was released in 2003.

Last night, Kelis stopped by Conan and performed "Rumble," a cut from the new album. She may have some different musical stylings now, but that velvety voice is still there. Check out her performance on Conan below.

Food is out now via Ninja Tune.
