Though Anna Calvi is a successful, Mercury Prize-nominated singer-songwriter, she has also made a nice habit of covering other artists. In the past we’ve heard her take on TV On The Radio’s “Wolf Like Me” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire,” and now she’ll be bringing an entire EP of covers to us. Working with David Byrne and snagging Thomas Bartlett to produce (along with contributions from Nico Muhly), Calvi will soon release Strange Weather, which features covers of songs by legends like David Bowie and Suicide, along with emerging artists like Connan Mockasin and FKA twigs. Today Calvi shares a mournful, guitar-driven take on twigs’ “Papi Pacify.” Listen to it and check out the full tracklist below.
