Karl X Johan is actually Kalle X Johan -- specifically, Stockholm residents Kalle Jönsson and Johan Tuvesson. "A Better Tomorrow" is the latest in a string of strong synthpop singles dating back to 2010's "Flames," which won a Swedish Grammy for its striking video, a series of extreme close-up detail shots of a couple getting dressed for a date, going out, and then getting... undressed. "A Better Tomorrow" goes full '80s power ballad -- think Peter Gabriel taking his best crack at "Take My Breath Away." It's a note-perfect genre exercise and a gorgeous love song by any measure.
