GEMS – “Scars”
Dream-wave/shadow-pop Washington, D.C. duo GEMS are as heavy in sentiment as they are with their bass and synth. Dark and brooding, their sound ebbs and flows over a landscape of plaintive love and hurt, serving up airy vocals and deep, rolling beats. Phantogram and Purity Ring fans, be merry. GEMS released their debut EP, Medusa, last fall, and a cover of Seal’s 1995 hit “Don’t Cry,” shortly on its heels. Today, the band dropped a new song, “Scars,” which you can check out, along with tour dates, below.
