The Vaselines – “One Lost Year”
After a 21-year absence Scottish twee-pop heroes the Vaselines returned in 2010 with their second album, Sex With An X. They didn’t take nearly so long to return the follow-up LP V For Vaselines, which is coming later this year. The band produced the new album themselves at Mogwai’s Castle Of Doom studio, and fellow Glasgow indie-poppers like Belle & Sebastian’s Stevie Jackson and Teenage Fanclub’s Frank Macdonald guest on it. First single “One Lost Year” is a fast, short, fired-up charmer; frontman Eugene Kelly has said that the Ramones inspired the new album, and you can hear it in that song. Listen to it and check out the album’s tracklist below.
