James Mercer may have reactivated the Shins long enough to record “So Now What,” their song for the soundtrack to Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here, but he’s still keeping busy with Broken Bells, his duo with Danger Mouse. Last night, they were the musical guests on the Late Show With David Letterman, where they performed “Control,” a song from their newish sophomore album After The Disco. But their crew didn’t put together that geometrically intricate stage set so that they could play just one song. They also played a full 56-minute set on the show’s Live With Letterman webcast.
