Stream United Nations The Next Four Years
Geoff Rickly started his mysterious berserker hardcore project United Nations when he was still the frontman for Thursday, but now that his old band has run its course, he’s devoting more energy to his feral side. The Next Four Years, the new United Nations album, is something of a concept LP about the state of punk rock, and it’s being sold as a box set with Black Flag-interpolating cover art. But it’s also a furious, stormy, stunning record with hints of Deafheaven’s expansive black metal theatrics and Refused’s grand, mutating post-hardcore. We’ve posted the early tracks “Serious Business,” “Meanwhile On Main Street,” and “United Nations Vs. United Nations,” but the whole album slays, and now you can stream it at Pitchfork.
The Next Four Years is out 7/15 on Temporary Residence.
