Jesse Marchant, the NYC-via-Montreal singer-songwriter who used to record under the name JBM, is about to release a self-titled album under his birth name. Album highlight “Every Eye Open” sets Marchant’s weathered warble against a simple, direct, graceful chord progression laced with elegant guitar arrangements that verge on post-rock levels of grandeur.
