Watch The Trailer For Nick Cave’s 20,000 Days On Earth

The official trailer for the Nick Cave pseudo-documentary 20,000 Days On Earth has been released. The concept is simple and intriguing: Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard followed Cave around throughout his 20,000th day alive, tracking him through situations they invented for him such as having lunch with collaborator Warren Ellis, writing on a typewriter, and visiting the Nick Cave Archive. Here’s the description from Madman Films’ YouTube: “Drama and reality combine in a fictitious 24 hours in the life of musician and international cultural icon Nick Cave. With startlingly frank insights and an intimate portrayal of the artistic process, the film examines what makes us who we are, and celebrates the transformative power of the creative spirit.” Considering the brusque and spooky nature of his music, I’m surprised at how warm and friendly Cave comes off in the clip. It looks like essential viewing for Cave fans and music fans at large. Watch below.
