The Rentals – “1000 Seasons”
Last month, the Rentals announced that they were releasing their first album in a decade and a half and shared the new song “Thought Of Sound.” The group is still primarily the project of ex-Weezer bassist Matt Sharp but he’s joined by an all-new lineup and “1000 Seasons” makes good use of them, with solid drumming from the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney, guitars from Ozma’s Ryen Slegr, strings from Lauren Chipman, and vocals from Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of indie-pop group Lucius. The song is all about the passage of time, which is appropriate considering how long the band has been gone. Listen below.
Lost In Alphaville is out 8/26 via Polyvinyl.
