Walt From Lost Is In That Pop Group You’ve Been Hearing On The Radio All Month
Waaaaaaaaaaaaalt! Turns out Malcolm David Kelly, who played Walt on Lost, is the MK half of the pop duo MKTO alongside Tony Oller. Their song “Classic” has been getting major top 40 airplay this summer. It’s the song that compares the object of the singers’ affections to classic pop music and old-school movie pinups — you know, the one that goes, “I wanna thrill you like Michael/ I wanna kiss you like Prince/ Let’s get it on like Marvin Gaye/ Like Hathaway write a song for you like this” and “Hepburn, Beyonce, Marilyn, Massey!” Kelly delivers the song’s rap verse while Ortiz handles the singing. If it’s still not ringing a bell, here it is.
Vulture ran an interview with the group in which Kelly answered a couple Lost questions at the end. Apparently he doesn’t mind the association lingering on.
I love it! When they come to the shows and they have a Walt sign, that’s just like … it’s crazy, man. It’s hitting all demographics, and I love it. It puts a big smile on my face each and every time… I love it. It never gets old.
You know what else never gets old?
