BASECAMP – “Shudder” (Stereogum Premiere)
The Nashville trio BASECAMP specialize in a popping, snapping, hiccuping hybrid of house and R&B built around Aaron Miller’s rich vocals and warm swaths of harmony. Recently they’ve opened for CHVRCHES and remixed Sia’s “Chandelier,” and this fall they’ll release their second EP. “Shudder,” a new single that’s not on the EP, reminds me of a Disclosure song in front of a foggy window — brisk and agile, but with beautifully cloudy synth sounds filling in the gaps. Hear it below.
“Shudder” is out now, and the EP is coming this fall. BASECAMP also have a couple festival dates coming up:
10/3-4 Sacramento CA @ TBD Festival
10/12-13 Brooklyn, NY @ Escape Festival
