Tobias Jesso Jr. Announces True Panther Flexi-Disc Series, Shares Piano Lesson
Last week, the young Vancouver singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. made some serious noise online with “True Love,” an intense solo piano ballad that impressed a whole lot of people. In a lot of cases, this would be an opportune time for a new artist to announce a debut album, or at least an EP. Instead, Jesso will release his first set of songs as a flexi-disc 7″ single series on True Panther. For $5, you’ll get five discs from Jesso, with a new one arriving every three or four weeks. All the songs are piano ballads, and Jesso recorded them all at home. The five songs (“Bad Words,” “I Can’t Stop Thinking About You,” “Hollywood,” “Diary Of A Showman,” “Leaving L.A.”) won’t be available anywhere digitally; you can subscribe here. And in other Jesso news, he’s dedicated a section of his website to teaching you how to play “True Love” on piano; check that out here.
