Judd Apatow Is Producing A Lonely Island Movie
The three members of the Lonely Island have all done an admirable job keeping their joke-rap career going in the years since they left Saturday Night Live, but they all have some impressive screen credits, as well. Andy Samberg, of course, has been in a bunch of movies, and he plays the lead in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Jorma Taccone wrote and directed the beloved-in-certain-circles MacGruber. Akiva Schaffer directed The Watch, which someone somewhere probably watched and liked. And now Variety reports that the three of them are teaming up to make a Lonely Island movie, a “comedy set in the world of music,” for Universal. All three will star in and produce the movie, and cinematic comedy kingpin Judd Apatow will also serve as a producer, which means it will actually get made.
