Stream DJ Mustard 10 Summers
California’s DJ Mustard is easily the most important rap producer of 2014. He produced most of YG’s My Krazy Life, the year’s most important rap album. He’s responsible for making hits like Jeremih’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em” and Tinashe’s “2 On.” His minimal, propulsive, handclap-happy sound has gone from being the dominant style in West Coast rap to being the dominant style in commercial rap in general; it’s what Iggy Azalea’s producers ripped off on “Fancy.” And now Mustard’s got his own new all-star album, 10 Summers. The LP includes the Ty Dolla $ign/2 Chainz collab “Down On Me,” as well as appearances from a ton of other stars; one track, “Face Down,” has the enviable lineup of Lil Wayne, Lil Boosie, YG, and Big Sean. And right now, you can stream the whole LP at Google Play. (Apparently, there’s a way to download it for free, too, but I can’t figure that out.)
10 Summers is out 10/26 on Roc Nation/Repubic.
