Pussy Riot Members To Appear On House Of Cards
Nadya Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, the most prominent members of Russian activist punk act Pussy Riot, are appearing on season three of House Of Cards, according to Baltimore’s City Paper. Members of the production team confirmed that the two were on set last week and would appear in the show, though it’s still unclear how big of a role they’ll have and whether they’ll be playing themselves or characters within the show. Back in May, The Wall Street Journal reported that the two were meeting with the production team from the show while in New York for their speech at Lincoln Center. At the time, they were interested in making a movie: “We want to learn how to do a political movie. This is our main agenda right now,” Tolokonnikova said. The duo were recently awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize For Political Thought and are currently suing the Russian government in the European Court Of Human Rights.
