"Cosmic Was" will make you stomp your feet and snap your fingers, but the song -- the lead track from Justin Fernandez's upcoming Memorize Now EP -- has a lingering sadness about it too. It's a jazzy psych-pop track with a skip in its step and longing in its heart. Chicago-based Fernandez is conjuring sensations I've felt before on Broadcast records and in some of the darker corners of the Elephant 6 collective, but his sound is distinctly his own.
