Iceage – “Glassy Eyed, Dormant And Veiled”
On their upcoming Plowing Into The Field Of Love, Danish punks Iceage show what happens when they pour all the sneering dull-blade brutality of their previous post-punk/hardcore incarnation into jangly Mekons roots-punk. The results so far have been fascinating, and new single “Glassy Eyed, Dormant And Veiled” continues to challenge our ideas of what Iceage can be — an ominous, shapeshifting piece of work that somehow synthesizes chiming acoustic guitars, machine-gun drums, and eerie horn parts into something coherent. It’s bizarre and unsettling, like listening to a cowboy turn into a werewolf. Hear it below.
Plowing Into The Field Of Love is out 10/7 on Matador. Pre-order it in digital and physical formats.
