Stream Godflesh A World Lit Only By Fire
Justin K. Broadrick’s trudge-clank industrial metal institution Godflesh cast a long shadow over the darker edges of underground music in the late ’80s and the ’90s. Next week, they’ll release A World Lit Only By Fire, their first album since 2001’s Hymns. It’s an endlessly bleak and heavy album, an album that deserves to stand next to previous black holes like 1989’s Streetcleaner. We’ve posted the songs “New Dark Ages” and “Imperator,” but the only way to really get Godflesh is a full-immersion dive into a full-length album. And right now, you can stream A World Lit Only By Fire at NPR.
A World Lit Only By Fire is out 10/7 on the band’s own Avalanche Recordings.
