Ultimate Painting – “Ten Street” (Stereogum Premiere)
Young British rockers James Hoare (of Veronica Falls) and Jack Cooper (of Mazes) made a record together under the name Ultimate Painting, and they’re coming to America to promote it this October. “Ten Street,” the single they’re sharing today, is a rambling groove that exists on the same slipshod continuum as Lou Reed and Pavement. At the end, it descends into a dramatic barebones piano outro, but mostly it just rolls along with a pleasantly casual verve. Listen below.
