Stream Various Artists Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell
The latest benefit compilation from the Red Hot Organization is Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell, and it features two CDs’ worth of artists paying tribute to Russell, the downtown genre-bender who died of AIDS-related causes in 1992. We’ve posted Sufjan Stevens’ cover of “A Little Lost,” Hot Chip’s version of “Go Bang,” Robyn’s take on “Tell You (Today),” and José González’s remake of “This Is How We Walk On The Moon.” The comp also has contributions from people like Blood Orange, Cults, Phosphorescent, and Devendra Banhart. And right now, you can stream the whole thing at NPR.
Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell is out 10/21 on Red Hot/Yep Roc.
