Tom Morello – “Marching On Ferguson”
The day after his Rage Against The Machine bandmate Zack De La Rocha returned with a furious verse on Run The Jewels’ “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck),” Tom Morello has shared the studio version of “Marching On Ferguson,” his protest song about the Michael Brown killing. Morello debuted the song live last month at an L.A. benefit show, but the studio version is new, and Morello is releasing it in conjunction with the protest movement Ferguson October. This isn’t Folk Morello; it’s a stomping rock song with one of those ear-splitting solos that nobody else has figured out how to play. Listen to it and read some words from Morello below.
Morello writes:
I’ve witnessed countless incidents of racially motivated police brutality in my lifetime and it’s time to say “Enough!” in the name of all those wrongfully killed and abused. For all the courageous men and women raising their voices against injustice in ?#?Ferguson?, and beyond, give ‘em hell. This song is for you.
