Kesha Swore Under Oath Three Years Ago That Dr. Luke Never Drugged Or Raped Her
In the last installment of the Week In Pop, Chris constructed a timeline chronicling the ugly history between Kesha and Dr. Luke, starting in 2012 — when Kesha claimed she had been “forced” to sing the lyrics to “Die Young” — and culminating in the dueling lawsuits launched last week by both parties against one another. According to TMZ, Kesha’s lawsuit against Dr. Luke included claims that:
Kesha was sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused for 10 years by her producer, Dr. Luke, to the point where she nearly died … Kesha claims Dr. Luke was abusive towards her almost from the get-go — when she signed on with him at 18 — and made repeated sexual advances toward her. She claims he would force her to use drugs and alcohol to remove her defenses.
Today, though, TMZ published snippets obtained from a 2011 deposition “in which Kesha and Luke were both being sued by her former manager.” And the answers given by Kesha then directly contradict the accusations made in her current lawsuit:
According to TMZ, “The deposition had been sealed … and this morning Dr. Luke’s lawyer went to court asking the judge in his case to unseal the depo and allow it to be used in the current case.” Kesha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, commented, saying Kesha lied under oath in 2011 because: “Luke walked Kesha down the beach and threatened to destroy Kesha’s life and the lives of her family if she didn’t cover up his sexual assaults.”
