Last night, Atlanta metal monsters Mastodon were the musical guests on the Late Show With David Letterman, and it is still weird to see these grimy motherfuckers on network TV. They played “The Motherload,” the single from their recent album Once More ‘Round The Sun, and nobody showed up to twerk. Brent Hinds did, however, wear a ’70s cool-guy costume and play a cowbell intro to the song, so these guys are still not taking themselves all that seriously right now. They sounded titanic, of course, and you can watch the performance below.
