Arcade Fire celebrated Halloween by releasing a star-studded horror film they made three years ago. That’s their style: Go big or go home. Their label boss, Merge Records founder and Superchunk/Portastatic main man Mac McCaughan unsurprisingly opted for something simpler and more direct, an eerie, shapeless cover of Sisters Of Mercy’s “First And Last And Always.” It’s good — though he missed the opportunity to call himself Mac McCoffin!
