R.I.P. Wayne Static
Former Static-X frontman Wayne Static (born Wayne Richard Wells) has died at the age of 48, his publicist confirmed with Billboard. The singer and guitarist was about to embark on a co-headlining tour with Powerman 5000 and American Head Charge. Wells started Static-X after he moved to California in 1994. The metal band released six albums — their 1999 debut, Wisconsin Death Trip, went platinum two years after it was released. They broke up last year. Wells released one solo album, Pighammer, in 2011. No cause of death has been released yet.
