Twin Shadow Reschedules U.S. Tour, Signs To Warner Bros. For LP Out In Spring
Twin Shadow postponed a tour back in August, and he didn’t really say why. Today, he’s given up the answer: He wanted to put in some more serious work on the new album he’s planning. To that end, he’s made the leap from indieland to Warner Bros., and a major-label home is honestly a pretty reasonable place for someone capable of writing songs as huge as “To The Top.” That third album, the follow-up to 2012’s very good Confess, is now set to arrive in spring. And George Lewis, Jr. has finally rescheduled that tour, announcing a new slate of North American dates. Those dates, as well as a statement from Lewis about his plans, are below.
Lewis writes:
Towards the end of recording this third Twin Shadow album, I came into a strong feeling—a place of creative change. I wanted to give you an uncompromising experience at every turn. To do this, I had to put the brakes on the tour, the planned album release, and reconsider where Twin Shadow was headed. With even more perspective, I realized that I was going to need help to pull off the vision for this album.
I’m excited to announce that I’ve found a group of like-minded people at Warner Bros. Records to help me accomplish this goal. In the interest of progress and adventure, I look forward to the new relationship (and hopefully a coffee with Prince).
