Watch Wayne Coyne Discuss The Origin Of Christmas On Mars In A Clip From XMas Doc Jingle Bell Rocks!
Oscilloscope Laboratories, the film distribution company founded by the late Adam Yauch, has a new movie about obscure Christmas songs entitled Jingle Bell Rocks!. It’s directed by Mitchell Kezin, and features interviews with Run–D.M.C., John Waters, and the Flaming Lips, among others. In the film, Wayne Coyne discusses the real-life inspiration behind 2008’s Christmas On Mars, giving his mother all of the credit for what is one of the most bizarre Christmas films ever made. Additionally, Coyne sings the original Flaming Lips song “A Change At Christmas,” which is featured in the film. Watch below.
