Pop. 1280 – “Krankenschwester”
On their new limited edition 7″, synth-laden New York noise-punks Pop. 1280 explore the confluence of sex and violence. On B-side “Krankenschwester,” that sounds a lot like Jay Reatard’s Lost Sounds, Steve Albini’s Big Black, and Japanese spazz-masters Polysics. Frontman Andrew Chugg recorded the songs during the same sessions that yielded Pop. 1280’s next album, due in early 2015. In the meantime, we’ve got the sonic lacerations below.
Only 300 copies of the new 7″ are being pressed. A handful will be on sale at the Sacred Bones website, but the majority will be sold on Pop. 1280’s upcoming European tour:
