New Orleans Jazz Fest 2015 Lineup
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, which this year runs 4/24 – 5/3, has long been one of the weirdest and most all-over-the-place of America’s festivals, pushing way past the boundaries that its name implies and pulling in acts from wherever the hell. And this year’s list of headliners makes basically no sense whatsoever: Elton John! The Who! Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga! Jimmy Buffett! No Doubt! Pitbull! John Legend! Chicago! This year, though, the organizers made a real attempt to cram in just about every notable New Orleans artist they could find, and the bill gets pretty impressive when you see all these names in one place: The Meters, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Allen Toussaint, Aaron Neville, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Galactic with Macy Gray, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, the Rebirth Brass Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Big Freedia, and, most intriguingly, Juvenile and Mannie Fresh. The lineup also includes T.I., Ryan Adams, Wilco, Sturgill Simpson, Ed Sheeran, Kacey Musgraves, Jimmy Cliff, Jerry Lee Lewis, and an insane amount of others. Check here for more info.
