Stream The Decemberists What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World
Next Tuesday is a big one for indie rock, with Sleater-Kinney, Belle & Sebastian, and the Decemberists all ending long silences with new albums. The Decemberists’ offering on this particular super Tuesday is called What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World. It’s the band’s seventh album, and their first in four years. There’s no grand narrative hook to this one; it’s just the band hitting the studio with longtime producer Tucker Martine to knock out some characteristically stentorian, whimsical, lyrically thought-out folk-rockers. We’ve posted the early songs “Make You Better,” “Lake Song,” “The Wrong Year,” and “A Beginning Song,” and now you can stream the whole thing at iTunes Radio.
What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World is out 1/20 on Capitol.
