Happyness – “Don’t Know Why” (Norah Jones Cover)
Happyness emerged with such a singular sound — a composite of several classic indie-rock strains topped off with Benji Compston’s unmistakable deadpan delivery — that it’s a trip hearing the London Band To Watch’s aesthetic applied to other familiar songs. The familiar tune in question here is Norah Jones’ signature song “Don’t Know Why.” Happyness shared the jazzy slow jam along with the announcement that they’ve signed to Bar None in the US and Moshi Moshi in the UK and worldwide and both labels will be reissuing their slept-on Weird Little Birthday LP. Great news, great cover. Listen below.
