Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook has been released solo material as Young Governor and Young Guv And The Scuzz. On his latest LP for Slumberland, Ripe 4 Luv, he's shortened his moniker to Young Guv. Lead single "Wrong Crowd" is a seven-minute sax-laden lite-pop tune in the vein of latter-day Destroyer or Nicholas Krgovich. Written on a day off during a tour of Australia, it's sung from the perspective of a man wrongly accused of robbery writing his wife from prison. The vibe is significantly more casual than the subject matter suggests. Listen below.
