Never Young – “Like A Version”
The small family-run record label Father/Daughter is fast becoming one of our great hubs for messy DIY guitar music. The last new band they brought us was Diet Cig, and you should definitely look out for those kids. You should probably also look out for the Bay Area noise-punk duo Never Young, whose self-titled EP looms imminent. On early track “Like A Version,” the band displays some of the angular intensity that characterized a band like Enon, though it’s also possible to hear the influence of post-hardcore bands like the Blood Brothers in their chaotic din. Listen to “Like A Version” below.
The Never Young EP is out 2/10 on Father/Daughter.
