Israeli Man Arrested In Madonna Demo Leak Case
An Israeli man has been arrested for hacking into Madonna’s computer and leaking demo tracks from her new album, Rebel Heart. It’s unclear whether he was responsible for both batches of songs that were leaked this past December. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old man was arrested after a month-long investigation that was conducted by a private security firm and the cybercrime unit of Lahav 433, Israel’s equivalent of the FBI. In a statement, Lahav 433 says that the man allegedly “broke into the personal computers of several international artists over the past few months and stole promotional final-cut singles which have yet to be released and traded them online for a fee.” Madonna responded to the leaks by calling it “artistic rape” and a “form of terrorism.” She also released six songs from the album, and set a release date for 3/10.
