Hear Charli XCX’s New Japanese Versions Of “Boom Clap” & “Break The Rules”
Because of some weird label stuff, Charli XCX’s Sucker doesn’t officially come out in most places overseas for a few more weeks, almost two months after it was released stateside. The Japanese edition of the album — which is out 2/18 — comes with two versions of the album’s lead singles that specifically cater to that market. “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules” get Japanese language updates, and Charli strains to adopt the mixture of Japanese and English that marks most J-pop tracks. She’s also previously made a Tokyo edition of the video for “Boom Clap,” so this isn’t her first time doing this. You can hear previews of the two new versions below.
