Hundred Waters – “Out Alee (Plaid Remix)”
Hundred Waters are a curious case. Their music is so pretty and insular and new-agey that you almost want to think about it in folk-music terms, but they’ve also got the playful rhythmic sensibility of a ’90s IDM producer. So when actual ’90s IDM producers remix them, it just makes sense. The group is about to release a remix version of their 2014 album The Moon Rang Like A Bell, and we’ve already posted Shigeto’s take on “Cavity.” Now the veteran Warp duo Plaid has taken on their single “Out Alee,” zeroing in on its chiming lilt and making an already-beautiful song even prettier. This is a really, really good remix, and you can hear it below.
The Moon Rang Like A Bell (Remixed) is out 2/17 on OWSLA.
