Grooms’ Drummer Was In Better Call Saul‘s Series Premiere
While the Stereogum staff was suffering through the Grammys on Sunday night, AMC debuted the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul to record ratings. The series, a prequel built around Bob Odenkirk’s sleazy lawyer character Saul Goodman before he became Saul Goodman, featured several other familiar faces for Breaking Bad fans including Mike (Jonathan Banks) and Tuco (Raymond Cruz). There was one more recognizable face in there too for fans of Brooklyn noise-rockers Grooms. As Brooklyn Vegan points out, the band’s drummer, Steve Levine, is in the cast alongside twin brother Daniel playing Lars and Cal, a pair of skateboarding con artists. They were the best part of the pilot, too! (I haven’t yet watched episode 2, which aired Monday, so no spoilers, please.)

Better Call Saul airs Sundays at 10PM on AMC, and for those unfamiliar, Grooms’ recent “Comb The Feelings Through Your Hair” is a jam.
