Stream Grooms Comb The Feelings Through Your Hair
Grooms were just displaced from their haunt of seven years — Brooklyn DIY venue Death By Audio — but none of that chaos comes through on their new album Comb The Feelings Through Your Hair. Instead, everything on the record is tightly-controlled, if slightly ominous. Brooklyn continues eating itself alive, but bands like Grooms convince me that no amount of gentrification will halt the creative energy of New York. If you’re new to the band and don’t know where to start, listen to the title track “Comb The Feelings Through Your Hair.” It’s a deadpan dive into emotional insecurities and features the kind of drumming that forces the melody to come second. Death By Audio may be dead, but Grooms are very much alive. Stream the entire album below.
