Ty Segall Announces Short Solo Acoustic Tour
Ty Segall made one of last year’s greatest rock albums with Manipulator, a stomping, snorting, throat-ripping testament to the things that loud guitars can do. But Segall never sits in one aesthetic place for long, and he’s about to take a quick left turn in the opposite direction. Later this year, he’ll play a few solo-acoustic shows in L.A., New York, and Chicago, mostly in smaller venues than he’d usually play. It’s anyone’s guess whether this indicates some new change in direction, but Segall has made change the biggest constant of his career, so it’s definitely possible. Segall’s solo-acoustic dates are below.
4/21 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Satellite (with Wand’s Cory Hanson, the Cairo Gang’s Emmett Kelly)
6/24 – Brooklyn, NY @ Baby’s All Right (with Christian Peslak)
6/25 – Brooklyn, NY @ The Bellhouse (with Christian Peslak)
6/26 – New York, NY @ Mercury Lounge (early show)
6/26 – Brooklyn, NY @ Rough Trade (late show)
6/27 – Chicago, IL @ Empty Bottle
