GZA – “The Mexican” (Feat. Tom Morello)
Rage Against The Machine and the Wu-Tang Clan embarked on a chaotic tour together approximately one million years ago, and now two of the driving forces from both groups have found themselves on the same track together. GZA’s new one-off single “The Mexican,” which adapts Babe Ruth’s 1972 funk-rock classic of the same title and which GZA produced himself, features Morello on the ax. It also has contributions from Hanni El Khatib and Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Ruban Nielson. It’s a bit of a mess, with GZA struggling to keep up with his own track. But it’s still a fascinating collision of elements, and that chorus remains mighty. Listen below.

GZA has a new album called Dark Matter coming out this fall, but “The Mexican” won’t be on it.
