“The Ground Walks, With Time In A Box” sounds like something Matthew McConaughey might’ve said during a True Detective voiceover, but no, it’s a new Modest Mouse song. The new Modest Mouse album Strangers To Ourselves drops next month, and we’ve already heard new tracks “Coyotes,” “Lampshades On Fire,” and “The Best Room.” The latest is a demented, skittery funk-rock song that finds Isaac Brock coming closer to Anthony-Kiedis-rapping delivery than I ever thought I’d hear it come. There’s also a bloodthirsty brass section and a very busy rhythm section. It’s a weird song! Listen below.
