R.I.P. The (500) Days Of Summer Bench
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand, bench from the movie (500) Days of Summer. From The Hollywood Reporter:
Ever since (500) Days of Summer was released in 2009, a downtown L.A. park bench that’s central to the film’s love story has been a tourist draw, particularly for fans looking to re-create the iconic shot of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel as they gaze across the city together. But the sloped grassy expanse, called Angel’s Knoll, was fenced off and closed July 30 due to state cutbacks. (The defunded Community Redevelopment Agency could no longer maintain it.)
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, couple-y tourist photos referencing a sad couple of jerks in a boring failed relationship to couple-y tourist photos referencing a sad couple of jerks in a boring failed relationship. We’ll miss you, bench from the movie (500) Days of Summer, but we’ll never forget you. R.I.B.
