I’m Worried About Rob Kardashian’s Sock Line, You Guys
Just a few months after Rob Kardashian triumphantly launched his Arthur George line of handsome socks for sophisticated men, Radar Online is reporting that Nieman Marcus who carries the sock line exclusively and should feel privileged to do so might be dropping them?!
“Rob’s socks sold around the Christmas holiday, but since then no one has been really buying them,” a source at the Neiman Marcus store in Beverly Hills said.
“We actually had to ship a bunch out to other stores because they weren’t moving at all. To be honest, a lot of customers bought them more as a gag gift. At this point it doesn’t look like we’re going order anymore.”
A gag gift?! What’s the gag? Giving your friend an expensive luxury brand of high-end fashion footwear created by a member of one of America’s most important and successful families? Oh hahaha you got me! Good one, buddy. Who is this source? They sound a little JEALOUS don’t they? Probably some poor, untalented, unfamous wannabe who has his own sock line tucked away in a drawer somewhere but no one even wants to put those socks into production, much less stock them at the world famous Nieman Marcus line of luxury goods stores. Nieman Marcus responds to these disgusting allegations:
In a statement, Neiman Marcus defended Arthur George by Robert Kardashian, saying it was “one of the best selling in the men’s sock category” at the store.
“It is common practice to send inventory above projected demand to a store in advance of a personal appearance,” Ginger Reeder, Vice President of Corporate Communications, told RadarOnline.com. “We then redistribute the excess to other stores after the appearance.
“The Arthur George by Robert Kardashian sock line has proven to be very popular with our customers.
“Currently we are carrying the socks in all 41 Neiman Marcus stores as well as at neimanmarcus.com, have just placed a large reorder in anticipation of Father’s Day and have a personal appearance with Rob scheduled next month in our Las Vegas store. In addition, we have several personal appearances scheduled for the fall.”
See? Would the incredible store Nieman Marcus keep stocking Arthur George socks ($30/pair retail) at all 41 of their stores and also neimanmarcus.com while ordering more socks for Father’s Day and also setting up in-store appearances in Las Vegas and elsewhere in the fall if the sock line wasn’t the huge success that Rob always envisioned it being because he is an innovator and a true designer? Besides, it is custom to send inventory above projected demand and stuff. OK?!
Obviously, we can take some comfort in the official statement from Nieman Marcus, and I’m sure this so-called “source” at the Beverly Hills store is just someone jealous of Rob’s talent and connections to the industry, but I’m still a little worried. I just know how much work Rob put into his sock line and if something where to happen to Arthur George I’m not sure that he could get the weight back off. Another setback for Rob is just not what Rob needs right now so I urge all of you, PLEASE, go to your local Nieman Marcus and buy a pair of Arthur George socks for your friends and co-workers and for everyone in your family, let’s keep this important sock line going because I am obviously just kidding about all of this.
