What I really wanted to do this week was have a caption contest about this, but what would the captions even be other than “Best elevator”? There’s not a lot of room to play around with that one. “That’s a really important elevator.” That’s it. Those are the two possible captions. So we’re stuck with this photo of Robert Downey Jr. but also it could be worse because I feel like THERE IS A LOT TO TALK ABOUT WITH THIS PHOTO. What is even going on here? Why is he lying on a flokati rug in the guest room? Why is his one leg up in the air like that? Fists? Toy in his mouth? Not only did someone have to propose this photo, but he had to agree with it, and then it had to be taken, and it doesn’t stop there, because they probably took hundreds of photos that day, but when they got back to the photo lab they circled this one with the red grease pen because they said YES, THIS IS THE PHOTO WE WILL USE. Holy cow. It’s sad that the Pulitzers were announced yesterday and that Robert Downey Jr. has to wait a whole year to win one for this photo. (That’s how that works, right? You win for being in the photo, yes? I know stuff.)
