Back in October of 2011, word was going around that a second and third edition of the 1996 classic Independence Day might be in the works, albeit possibly without Will Smith, whose demands of $50 million + parts for Jada and Willow (NO JOKE) (no Jaden?) might have proved too much for the studio. We haven't heard much about it ...
